Why are Atheists persecuted?

for the same reason Jews and Christians have been for thousands of years. being a Christian is like being in a club. We're not gonna let someone who's not in the club be our president or decide how our club is ruled. As for the persecution part get a life. Atheists aren't being offed by the thousands like Jews and Christians have been.
