What is a good intermediate Reptile pet (Preferable a lizard)?

I am looking for a new reptile pet i have space in my room so size is not a problem. I was thinking about a water dragon, iguana or something close to do to the fact i do not think i could properly care for a monitor. But if i am wrong plz let me know and my price limit is around 150$ excluding cage
