Legal age to leave a child home alone...?

The base age for baby sitting is usually 12 - and that's with special training (basic first aid etc.) So leaving someone under that age home alone is risky. Not because the child doesn't have the street smarts, but accidents can happen to anyone - especially in the home. Check with your local social workers or police department, and they can tell you the legal age for leaving minors alone. In some areas, minors under 10 can be picked up and placed in foster homes if they are left alone.
