Is a daycare center or daycare home better for a young infant?

If the baby has to be in daycare, I'd go with a center. Perhaps a different one since you don't seem to like the one you are using. In my opinion, they seem generally more professional. There are also more eyes on your little one which decreases the chances of abuse or neglect.
