How did people live out the dinosaurs?

Now on the 6th day, God created Adam and Eve. If you do not believe in that, than you can say there were cavemen living on the earth when dinosaurs roamed around. Scientists claim that everything died when a meteor hit the earth. So if everything died then how are we still here?
