because no matter how much you want to represent america, sometimes it can be embaring, then again the irish have their own issues to deal with, its just tribalism and respecting your roots because some people brutally need identity in their lives and dont have real personalities to suppliment their heritage.

Culturally speaking, what would your psychological...ahem...i mean cultural essment be of this indivual?

My MIL is like that. However, she lives in Italy while we are here in the USA. When I go there in the summer with hubby and kids, she can be very invasive herself. I've learned, in all these years, to completely "not hear her" while she's talking. It's amazing how a human mind's can work that well. As a matter of fact, she asks me sometimes:" Are you listening to what I'm saying?" My response is the same:" Of course I am. Can we move on now?" My point is: you won't teach an old dog new tricks. She is older and extremely stubborn. You either 1) confront her with no avail or 2) completely shut her out of your ears. There is no other way to do this and still, live in harmony.

i am going to the hospital for an operation on my mouth and i have to have a tooth removed from the roof of my mouth and the piece of gummy stuff that connects your lip to your gum removed and a removal brace fitted on the top and the bottom and i have heard that before you have an operation i have heard that you have to go in the day before you have an operation so i was wondering how long i would have to be in there for and if it would hurt much when i woke up because i am really nervous and scared

just start looking at it all the time, like shock theapy.. it may help, you need to get over it since you'll be going to med-school and you have to do the rotations.. good luck in med-school.. my husband is doing pre-recs for med-school too!!
